Spotlight Install | Bardmoor YMCA in Tampa Bay, FL

When the Bardmoor YMCA decided to triple the size of its fitness room as part of its overall expansion earlier this year, Fitness Director Executive Director Beth Maday knew just who to contact.

Gym Source made it easy,” says Beth Maday. “Their commercial team not only helped us choose the right equipment, they also helped design the new fitness space for maximum utilization. And it took a load off of me, knowing that they would deliver and expertly install everything—making sure everything worked to perfection before our doors re-opened.”

It was no small task for Terry Poklar, Gym Source commercial sales associate, who led the initiative on the part of Gym Source. The order included over 100 pieces of equipment, including 4 Cybex Arc Trainers, 25 True Fitness Cardio Machines, and 17 pieces of newly updated Cybex Eagle and VR3 circuit equipment.

“This client had a vision, which we were thrilled to bring to life,” says Terry. “They needed a wide variety of cardio and strength training equipment to meet the needs of a huge clientele. We recommended Cybex and TRUE in particular for the results and reliability those two brands consistently provide.” In addition to helping select, deliver and install the Bardmoor Y’s new fitness equipment, Terry’s team will provide service and maintenance for as long as it’s on site—which is certain to be years to come.

The new Bardmoor Y can be found at the nearby Bardmoor Palms II Business Complex near Bryan Dairy Road and Starkey Road. It replaces the facility formerly located at the Morton Plant Mease Bardmoor Outpatient Center on Bryan Dairy Road. The new 36,000 square-foot building can accommodate up to 14,000 members, and includes a comprehensive gym with separate spinning room, aerobics studio and outdoor athletic field.
