Is sitting worse than smoking?

Science says YES.

According to Lancet, a leading journal of oncology, neurology and infectious diseases, physical inactivity has a negative global impact so severe that its adverse effects on health are comparable to that of smoking or obesity. What’s more, say the researchers (who timed publication of their study to coincide with the Olympics), the problem of inactivity is so bad that it should be considered a pandemic.
