Gym Source Gives Back to Disabled American Veterans
This past Memorial Day was meaningful for Gym Source. We partnered with Disabled American Veterans to provide awareness and funding to a cause that far outlasts the abundant sales found during this memorable weekend.
Disabled American Veterans is a non-profit charity dedicated to a single purpose: fulfilling their promises to the men and women who served. The DAV provides support for veterans of all generations and their families.
DAV does this by ensuring that veterans of all generations and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; linking veterans and their families to employment resources; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
Last year, DAV assisted 292,000 veterans and family members by filing compensation and disability claims, traveled 18,452,374 miles in giving veterans 615,000 free rides to and from VA medical appointments, transitioned over 42,000 service members who received education preparing them for a new chapter in life and co-hosted 140 traditional and virtual career fair with RecruitMilitary and Veteran Recruiting with more than 43,000 attendees.
Over one million veterans a year are impacted by the generosity of organizations like Gym Source through DAV.
We are thrilled to announce that our Gym Source family, staff, customers and contributing manufacturers, joined together to raise $45,000 for Disabled American Veterans in one weekend. Moreover, throughout the year DAV will multiply our efforts by providing $40 of benefits for every $1 raised.
Last week Gym Source Marketing Director, Tom Richard, was honored to present DAV with the check at their annual convention and committed to an ongoing partnership.
$1 donated = $40 in benefits for veterans
“I am here to excitedly announce that Gym Source will not only be continuing this partnership but expanding our partnership to continue the amazing work done by this organization. It is our great pleasure to be a part of the DAV’s mission. On behalf of everyone at Gym Source we look forward to bringing our communities, customers, and employees together to continue to raise awareness for the great work done at DAV,” shares Tom Richard Director of Marketing at Gym Source.
Additionally, Gym Source is proud to have supportive fitness partners who also wanted to give back this Memorial Day. Thank you to the participating manufacturers who donated 5% of equipment’s purchase price to this cause, including Precor, True Fitness, Hampton, Octane Fitness, Power Plate, Stages, and Hoist fitness.
